March 2012 Class Letter

April 2, 2012 by Eric H. Doss

Dear Classmates:

We hope you recently received a letter in the mail regarding our 10th Class Reunion Campaign. If you did not please let one of us know what your correct mailing address is so you don’t miss out on all our 10th class reunion information.

As many of you know by now, we have embarked on a Class Reunion Campaign to raise $102,000 in celebration of our 10th class reunion. To date, we have raised approximately $71,213 of our $102,000 goal during our Class Reunion Campaign period from 2010-2012.

Within the overall goal, there are two projects for our class:
1.  We’ve met the first goal of $25,000 to endow the Arvel Richard “Trey” Reeves Memorial Scholarship.
2.  Now, we are focusing on our second project, the Class of 2002 Faculty Development Fund, which is also a  $25,000 goal.
*To date $11,725 has been designated to the Class of 2002 Faculty Development Fund,
which will allow Citadel faculty to apply for unrestricted funds to use for educational enhancements.

If the Class of 2002 Faculty Development Fund doesn’t interest you, make a gift to any fund you do want to support. The Citadel has hundreds of funds you can designate your gift to (for example: Summerall Guards, Band, Deans’ Excellence Funds, etc) . A gift to any fund at The Citadel Foundation, the Brigadier Foundation, or charitable gifts to the Alumni Association count toward our overall goal.

The Class of 2002 will present a check to The Citadel during Homecoming in November that reflects the total amount of money we have raised from 2010-2012. This is our chance to shine and for other alumni to see how great the Class of 2002 is. Please join us in supporting this effort.

Visit http://foundation.citadel.edu/2002 for more information and to view our class donor honor roll. THANK YOU to those classmates who have already made a gift!

If you would like to make a gift today visit http://foundation.citadel.edu/2002reunion. Any pledge made this year will have until December 31, 2015 to be fulfilled. A $2,000 pledge breaks down to $44/month if you begin pledge payments now.

We hope you take this opportunity to help the Class of 2002 meet and exceed our fundraising goal.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact any of us, our emails are below, or you can also contact Development Officer Lori Tuttle with The Citadel Foundation at 843-953-6079 or via e-mail atlori.tuttle@citadel.edu. We look forward to seeing everyone in November 2012 for our 10th class reunion!

Sincerely,
